This unique experience takes visitors to our exclusive property on Admiralty Island located in Hawk Inlet on Wheeler Creek. Admiralty Island is now a national monument and is an island of extraordinary beauty. It has one of the largest protected temperate old-growth rainforests in North America, and one of the world's densest populations of brown bears and nesting eagles. The island is prolific with wild flowers, birds, fish, deer, and ocean life.

Admiralty Westside Lodge is privately owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. William Brent. Built by hand from hand-cut logs in 1975, the cabin offers rustic charm for relaxation. The visitor has a one-of-a-kind opportunity to participate in Alaska's wilderness lifestyle with "Wild Bill," a true Alaskan sourdough, to tell the history of Admiralty and tales of life in the wilderness like you've never imagined!

Admiralty Westside Lodge has not only the original log cabin, but also boasts a new cabin built on a tall platform with glass doors overlooking picturesque Wheeler Creek. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the creek, meadow, and mountains. Wildlife can often be spotted from the deck drinking water from the creek or just meandering through the meadow looking for berries. This new addition to the homestead fits nicely into the wilderness setting and provides additional space and a choice for lodging to guests.

Activities include a hot tub bath in the Tiki Hut by the creek, bird watching, bear viewing, fishing, wildlife viewing, nature walks, canoeing, kayaking, photography at its best, campfire cookouts, beach combing, or just relaxing. Unguided fishing trips using our boats are available, and we can customize your trip with whatever activities you would like to include.

Rates: Prices for stay vary depending on party size. Call or Email for quote. Payment of a 25% non refundable deposit reserves your stay at Admiralty Westside Lodge. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. Visitors bring their own food to cook, or for an additional cost, arrangements can be made to have groceries bought and packed to bring out. Round trip floatplane from Juneau not included. We can arrange this for you via Ward Air. Discounts available for local residents of Juneau.
